You cannot pass this up – Steelville has been known to be called “The Floating Capital of Missouri.”
Peaceful Bend is located in Steelville about 1.5 miles from our cabins. Looking for something to do? Take a lovely nature walk to this local spot. Missouri-grown grapes make for a great glass of wine. They also serve craft beers and a full menu within the winery and wine garden.
Belmont Vineyards is a family-owned winery located in Leasburg, MO overlooking the rolling hills of the Ozarks. They have a range of wines that fluctuate from sweet to dry. You can enjoy these in the tasting room or under the covered porch and pavilion. They have live music and casual dining as well.
Locally grown tastes better! At 4J Cattle Farms, owners Justin and Jessica grow their own beef and chicken without any hormones or antibiotics. For 7 years, they have focused on creating a high-quality product by refining their farming practices. Want to try it out? Kick’n K offers horseback riding for all levels of riders. Saddle up and take a ride through the magnificent trails and landscape. This is one of the best things to do with the whole family. Trot up and down the Ozarks taking in the beauty of Missouri.
Zahorsky Trail is just north of Steelville, MO with picturesque views during all seasons. This trail runs along the Meramec River and provides you with varying topography – ridges, ravines, bluffs, and bottomlands – within the 56 acres of woodland.
Missouri is well known for its caves and bluffs. Onondaga Cave State Park has guided tours through the underground caverns that you can explore. Take a look at the beautiful, towering stalagmites, dripping stalactites, and active flowstones that helped turn this cave into a National Natural Landmark. If your ideal getaway does not entail cave exploration, they also have a beautiful panoramic view of the Meramec River.
This beautiful barn venue in Steelville, Missouri is perfect for weddings and special events. This space is owned and operated by Crystal and Gerald Earhart. The Crossbuck Barn can also host events such as engagement parties, wedding showers, rehearsal dinners, and concerts.
