River Access, Floating & Outdoor Experiences
As a guest of Dogwood Cabin, you’ll enjoy access to multiple Meramec River areas managed by 4J Vacation Rentals, offering flexibility for relaxing, floating, and exploring.

• Riverside Pavilion – Covered pavilion with deck overlooking the river, bar area, fireplace, refrigerator, sink with running water, swimming access, shade, and cornhole boards
• Bluffside River Take-Out – Scenic swimming area that also serves as the designated floating take-out point
✨ Optional River Access
• 4J Gravel Bar (Optional) – Optional access to a 13-acre private river property with ½ mile of Meramec River frontage, ideal for relaxing, swimming, kids playing, and short tubing loops throughout the day
Access to the 4J Gravel Bar is available for a per person fee and is not included with the nightly cabin rate.

Floating & Golf Cart Rentals
Floating and tubing options are available through 4J Vacation Rentals (visit our website and click the Floating tab for routes and current rates). Optional golf cart rentals are also available to make getting around easy and fun.
Please note: Gravel bar access and rentals such as floating equipment and golf carts are optional amenities offered separately and are not included in the nightly cabin rate.

Farm-to-Table Dining from Our Family Farm
As part of your stay, guests have the option to order farm-raised meats from our family-owned 4J Cattle Farm, including Wagyu and Angus beef and pasture-raised chicken, delivered directly to the cabin.
Many families enjoy grilling steaks or preparing farm-fresh meals during their stay.

Cancellation Policy
Please understand that we are a small property, and cancellations effect us greatly. This is an exclusive property where every guest reservation is both important and special to us. If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least 30 days prior to your arrival date to cancel your reservation to receive a full refund minus a 10% processing fee.
In the unlikely event that you must cancel with less than 30 days notice, shorten your stay or check out early, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for your entire reservation. If we can rebook your room(s), a full (minus 10%) or partial refund will be made.
Deposit Policy
If your reservation is made earlier than 30 days prior to your arrival, 50% of your total payment is required to hold your reservation. The remaining balance will be charged to your credit card or checking account 30 days prior to your reservation. You should receive a courtesy reminder email 5 days before the final payment is taken.
If your reservation is made within 30 days of arrival, full payment is required.

Our host Jessica was fantastic! She was very responsive and the Dogwood Cabin was perfect for our weekend getaway.
My family of four stayed here for a couple days around the holiday. Property was well kept and secluded. We had a relaxing time. Loved the hot tub and the river was a short walk away. Wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature.
We had a great time enjoying the hot tub and fire pit in the snow. Would like to return over the summer.

Great Place!!
This place is fabulous! Even though there are neighboring cabins we didn’t hear them. Always felt safe and loved the hot tub after a day on the river. Nieces said the beds were great and best sleep they’d had in a long time. Communication is great also. My GPS gave us a wrong turn but it was a quick response from the owner that got us back on track.
Property is as described. Nice launching point for day float trips. Kitchen has essentials, but as with all rentals, if you are picky about cookware and kitchen tools, bring along your favorites from home. Hot tub was great, view were lovely, and the river pavilion area as an awesome amenity.
Great location close to Steelville. Great Pavilion for your use on the riverside accessible by with a all wheel drive car or a steep walk. Easy access to floating near property.
My family and I stayed here over the Memorial Day weekend! We stayed at the Dogwood cabin and it was amazing! There was so much to do in and around the cabin! The hot tub, fire pit, and the pavilion by the river were some of the fun things you can do on the property! Will definitely be back!

Really enjoyed our stay here. Very comfortable and convenient location. Beautiful views and places to walk/hike. Close to other attractions like Steelville and Meramec Springs Park. Highly recommend.

Great place to relax and get away. Beautiful views of rolling hills and not far from great hiking.
The rustic cabin was perfect for our annual winter weekend. We had a beautiful view over the river valley and watched eagles flying and nesting (we had a great view of an occupied eagles nest with the binoculars). We like to cook so the large kitchen was perfect. The living room was well appointed with two couches and a comfy chair. The bedrooms were a nice size and the beds comfortable. The hot tub was nice touch on the cold winter evenings. There was plenty of heat and hot water, so we were comfortable all weekend. We will definitely be back for another weekend soon!

This is such a beautiful cabin with a spacious and calming hot tub! Everything we needed was provided with a well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, and even a washer and dryer for guests' use. Secluded quiet location with beautiful views but easy drive from the town of Steelville or Cuba. Jessica responded quickly on the rare times I needed to communicate with her. I highly recommend this for a fun and relaxing getaway!
Oh my goodness what a great getaway! The house was clean and beautiful. The Christmas tree and decorations were a sweet touch for our little celebration. We can't wait to come back and experience the cabin in warm weather being so close to the river and the pavilion. Jessica made the whole experience easy and convenient.
The cabin was wonderful and the surroundings peaceful. Hot tub was great and there was plenty of wood for the fire pit.
We enjoyed this cabin so much. The directions to get there were perfect. Our host was amazing. The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed. The location was so peaceful and there was some awesome wildlife around us. The only downside to this was that we weren’t right in the river, which it looks like from the photos. Other than that, highly recommend!
Our family stayed at this cabin as a weekend getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The hot tub was perfect. Also, our day on the river was excellent. We booked through Kickin Ks. They were very accommodating and so reasonably priced! Thanks for the recommendation !!!

Crystal was extremely accommodating and responsive, and the cabin was even better in person than we expected. We could not have asked for a more relaxing weekend and hope to return soon!

What an amazing place. This was our second year here. And we can't wait for next year. Float trip was excellent! We enjoyed the hot tub, the pavilion and river spot is beautiful and just perfect. We all love and enjoy everything at Murphy's Place!! The cabin is just amazing and gorgeous. It's all perfect! Perfect vacation spot.
We stayed at the Dogwood Cabin over the 4th of July weekend - our first time staying at Murphy's Cabins. Everything was absolutely perfect - the cabin was so nice and spacious with a beautiful view, driving through the property is beautiful, and the Pavilion is FABULOUS!! It rained all weekend, and we still had a wonderful time b/c of the Pavilion!! Power, built-in fire-pit, grills and a brick oven, a bar, fridge, tables, a view of the river.... what more could you ask for?? And the winery across the way was also just as fabulous. We will be back - thank you Crystal for being so great to correspond with, and for sharing your special place with us. 🙂
