This special piece of Missouri countryside has been in my family for five generations. Originally purchased by my
great-great-grandfather, the land has been home to generations of our family ever since. My great-grandfather was
born in the original farmhouse, followed by my grandmother and her twin sister, my mother, and eventually me. For
generations, our family has been blessed to call this peaceful stretch of rolling hills, river valleys, and scenic
farmland home.
In 2020, my husband Justin and I founded 4J Vacation Rentals with a simple goal: to share the beauty, tranquility,
and memories of this land with others. We began with two homes—Country Cabin and Hillside Cabin—both
originally built and lived in by my grandparents and great-grandmother. In 2021, we expanded by purchasing the
neighboring 16-acre property, adding Dogwood Cabin, Sassafras Cabin, Copperstone Cabin, and Murphy’s
Retreat, all overlooking the breathtaking Meramec River Valley.
Between 2024 and 2025, we continued investing in and expanding the guest experience. In 2024, we purchased
and completely remodeled Riverbend Retreat and Riverview Cabin, two properties perched atop the ridge
overlooking the Meramec River Valley. Then in 2025, we acquired the private 13-acre riverfront property directly
below these homes, featuring approximately one-half mile of Meramec River frontage and more than six acres of
open gravel bar. Together, these additions created a truly unique river experience, allowing guests to enjoy
breathtaking views from above while also having access to one of the most beautiful stretches of riverfront property
in the area. What started as a small dream has grown into something much larger than we ever imagined.
Beyond vacation rentals, our family remains deeply connected to the land. Justin and I operate 4J Cattle Farm,
where we raise premium beef and pasture-raised poultry using regenerative farming practices. In 2021, my mother
founded Power of Hope Equestrian Center (POH), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing equine-assisted
activities and experiences for individuals with special needs and veterans. Through the healing connection between
horses and people, POH strives to create opportunities for growth, confidence, independence, and emotional well-
being. Today, our children spend their days exploring the same hillsides, creek beds, and river views that
generations of our family enjoyed before them, continuing a legacy that spans more than a century.
There is something truly special about this place. Whether it’s watching the morning sun rise through the mist of the
Meramec River Valley, listening to the sounds of nature from a cabin porch, or gathering around a fire with family
and friends, the peace and beauty found here are difficult to put into words.
This land is more than just a destination—it is a place where families reconnect, friendships grow stronger, and
memories are made. Seeing guests experience the same sense of wonder and appreciation for this property that
our family has cherished for generations is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
We are honored to share this land with our guests and grateful for every family that chooses to stay with us. We
hope your time here provides the relaxation, connection, and renewal that are often missing from our busy lives.
Whether you’re enjoying a peaceful sunrise over the Meramec River Valley, spending the day floating the river,
relaxing on the private gravel bar, or simply unwinding around a campfire, we hope you’ll come to love this special
place as much as we do.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
